Staines Counselling Policies

Fees are payable in advance of each session. I ask clients to give me at least 48 hours' notice of cancellation except in the case of an emergency. I will give as much notice as possible of any holiday and I ask clients to do the same. If two sessions are missed without letting me know, I may need to make that space available to someone else. 

I engage with social media privately and professionally. There is a chance that if you use social media, you may see some of my online activity. You can choose to view my posts without liking or commenting - that way nobody will know that you have seen my post. You should bear in mind that if you like or comment on my posts, this could be seen by anyone who visits my page. I have colleagues, family and friends who follow me on social media. I will never identify you as a client. I will reply to messages or comments on my posts but I will not engage in counselling via social media. I will not accept friend requests from clients to my personal social media accounts as this could blur the boundaries of our therapist-client relationship. 

I collect basic data about you for the purposes of contacting you about counselling. I am registered as the Data Controller for my business with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO). I take the protection of your data very seriously e.g. I use password protected files and anonymised information.
